Before I grade assignments and discussions, I first grade all Projects, Exams and Essays, so rest assured I will grade your {formtext: name=Assignment Name} as soon as possible.
Most importantly, I treat all students with equity. Therefore, I grade submittals for all students in all my classes in order of submission date and time. I care deeply about everyone's work, so I read every word with an eye to the rubric and assignment prompts. This takes some time. The turn around for grading is typically 48 hours or so (potentially a bit longer for essays).
You will see the changes as they appear in your grade book.
