March Development Update

March was another exciting month for Text Blaze and we want to highlight three new features for you:

:scissors: Include Context from the Page in your Snippets

We've greatly extended the capabilities of the {site} command. When a snippet is used on a page, the {site} command can now insert the page title and the text of the page itself.

This opens new possibilities in streamlining your workflow. For example, if you are using Text Blaze in a Customer Support system, you may be able to automatically populate your snippet with the customer's name or contact information.

This webpage's Title: {site: title}

First paragraph of the post on this page: {site: text; selector=.contents p}

(the "selector" attribute inserts just a specific part of the page)

:rocket: Optimized Snippet Insertion

Text Blaze works extremely fast. After you type a key, it needs to quickly check if it should insert a snippet and then carry out the insertion. It needs to do all that in the fraction of a second before you type your next key.

In this release, we've worked hard on making it even faster! In certain cases we've shaved 10's of milliseconds (a millisecond is 1/1000 of a second) off the time it takes Text Blaze to insert a snippet. This will make Text Blaze even more responsive, especially on slower computers.

:busts_in_silhouette: Improved Organization Management

We've made several key improvements to the defaults of Text Blaze Business organizations to make managing them even easier.

  • Organization Owners are now automatically owners of all groups associated with the organization.
  • Organization Editors are now automatically editors of all groups associated with the organization.
  • When a group is added to an organization team, all team members now automatically have view access to the group.

Combined, these changes make it much simpler to manage teams of Text Blaze users across your organization.

As Always...
