Snippet Fill-in form - Stay in Front

Hello,

When filling out forms generated by text blaze, this often requires us to copy paste information from other windows into the input fields.

We have noticed that when we do this, often the form window goes behind other windows. Would it be possible to add in a flag/option so that when a snippet is created, it can be specified this snippets form should always stay in front of other windows?

We can do it on a per expansion basis using Microsoft PowerToys and using the shortcut ctrl+windows+t - but this only keeps that instance of the fill-in window in front, and means we have to use that shortcut each time in addition to the existing snippet shortcut we are using.

If you need more information about the issue, please do let me know,

Kind Regards

Hi @ashley.oliver Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for sharing the interesting request.

The form window in the Text Blaze macOS desktop app already behaves this way. I understand you're using Windows though.

Regarding the Windows desktop app, we will look into it and let you know.

Regarding the Chrome browser extension: due to Chrome's technical limitations, it is not possible to support this feature in the Chrome extension at the moment. Regardless, note that the Chrome extension supports automatically reading data from various sources (Text Blaze | Read Data from Websites) without having to copy paste.

Thanks for your reply @Gaurang_Tandon :slightly_smiling_face:

That is interesting to note that the Mac version already does this. At the moment we primarily use this from the Windows desktop application, as our team uses a variation of browsers it's easier for our team to design snippets without the browser add on in mind for now, but I do appreciate the suggestion.

Thank you for agreeing to look into it, I know making big changes like this can be difficult when users are already to the current behaviour, which is why I thought this being an optional setting may be useful.

I'll leave it in your hands in that case, and if you need anything from me please do let me know,

Kind Regards
