Why does using a snippet clear my clipboard

Part of the workflow I want to use this for involves taking a screenshot from one web browser tab, shifting to Gmail in a different tab, using a snippet to create the text of the email, and then pasting in the screenshot.

If I typed in the email text, the screenshot would still be in my clipboard, and I could simply use ctrl-V to drop it in. However, when I use a snippet, doing so seems to clear my clipboard.

Does anyone know a workaround for this?

Hi @rrgarver Welcome to the forum!

Text Blaze extension inserts snippets by copying the snippet contents to your clipboard and then pasting them into the target website. This ensures great compatibility for inserting text on all kinds of websites.

We restore the prior text contents of the clipboard (whether styled or unstyled) after the insertion is done. Unfortunately, prior non-text content like images is lost after insertion. Due to limitations imposed by the Chrome browser, restoring images is currently infeasible.

A workaround for this is to uninstall the extension and use the Text Blaze Desktop app, which can restore arbitrary clipboard data after insertion.

Apologies for the partially incorrect response. The Text Blaze Desktop app does not support image restore on the clipboard either. We will look into it and consider supporting it.

Understood. Thanks for getting back to me.
