I'd like to see snippets not activate until the entire snippet is typed. At this time, entire inappropriate expanded text will post after an single initial letter is typed.

Your snippet might be set to trigger on anywhere, which is why you are seeing this behaviour. You can adjust when your snippet is triggered in the folder's snippet trigger setting (PS: see the screenshot attached) to ensure that it is activated only before a word break or both when preceded and followed by a work break.

None of the folder options stopped this behavior and so I simply changed the offending snippet to symbols unlikely to be used in a conversation. Thank you for your time.
