I want a badge to appear over the Connected Folder icon(s) to appear when a connection update is required, so that I am sure to make the most up to date content available to my users.
Thinking something just like what appears here in the Community over my profile icon when there are unread notifications. Of course I know that there is the blue notification panel that appears at the bottom of a snippet when a connection update us needed, but this can be missed especially since there is a couple seconds delay between an edit being made and the bar appearing. Being able to see at the Dashboard level that a folder connection is needed would be amazing.
Bringing this idea back to the table. As the abilities of Text Blaze & Data Blaze continue to evolve by leaps and bounds, so does the need to keep DB connections updated. It's an easy one to miss especially if there are multiple editors in play. We really need some kind of front-facing indicator of a DB connection needing to be updated. Nothing fancy - Just a dot like when a snippet has been recently edited. I think a similar dot over the top corner of the space icon would be great. Example:
Bumping this back up due to a situation today that really caused a big ripple in our teams productivity.
We had an issue where about 40+ snippets stopped working correctly because 50 or so DBSelect Menu suddenly needed their "ORDER BY" code updated because they depend on other logic. These 40+ snippets span 12 or so folders. While making these updates, some folders required the connection to Data Blaze to be updated, while others did not. As I was making these updates everything was working perfectly on my end by I kept getting messages from users stating they were getting new errors about their snippet not being connected to the space. I had no idea this was the case unless I checked the connection status of the respective folders. This might not seem like that big of a deal, but when you have scores of snippets that import into other snippets and folders, maintaining DB Space connections is critically important. We really need a front-and-center visual indicator immediately when a Space connection needs to be updated.
Please consider the hightened need for a solution to this problem; I am sure I am not alone.
Bumping this for awareness in hopes of getting more votes, and legs. The need for this continues to grow day by day as our teams grow and the complexity/functionality of our Snippets grow too.
As of today, our org has 312 snippets in 29 folders that link to 5 Data Blaze Spaces which collectively contain 51 tables. When something changes, it is critically important that the "Update" connection buttons be clicked, yet they can easily be missed because sometimes they are needed, sometimes not. A badge indicator would be tremendously helpful to mitigate users encountering DB connection errorrs, the time needed to report the error, and the time needed for me to resolve the error.
