Can we get rid of this Light theme and select Dark Mode :)

Is there any way to get rid of the light theme burning my eyes and set this app to Dark Mode. Like most apps have this option but i cannot find an option

Thanks for the feedback! We don't have a Dark Mode currently but it would be great to add in the future.

I've moved this thread to the Features Idea category to better keep track of it.

Yes - please! This would be huge! Speaking for myself, although I am sure I am not alone, the hours per day I look at Text Blaze, a dark mode would be absolutely amazing! Currently, we can use 3rd party extensions like Dark Mode - Chrome Web Store, but it ends up doing this to the Dashboard:

Actually, I just found this extension that is much more user-friendly with Text Blaze! Dark Reader - Chrome Web Store

Please add dark mode especially for the Windows/Desktop version. It's really blinding since all my other apps are in dark mode.

Hi, Brad, were you able to change the background color of the popup forms?

–Ryan

Hi, Ryan. Unfortunately, no. Any Dark Mode extensions I have tried do not affect the form window.

Hi, Brad, after much fussing with Stylus, Dark Reader, Chrome Overrides, etc., I found a solution... try enabling the Chrome flag for dark mode chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark No more blasts of bright light! I hope this works for you.

Awesome! Glad to hear it is working. I had the same reaction. It's such a relief!

There are a number of 3rd party extensions in the Google Play store that produce a dark mode. Problem with these is most are not certified by Google and some pose a security concern. I found the best and safest solution for Dark Mode is to set Chrome itself to Dark Mode internally by changing a setting in what are called "Flags". Here's how:

  1. Go to: chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark
  2. Click the "Disabled" button to the right of "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents"
  3. Select the 2nd option that only says "Enabled"
  4. Click the "Relaunch" button that appears at the bottom right of your screen.
  5. Chrome will close and relaunch all tabs exactly as they were, but now in Dark Mode.

Hope this helps! :fire:

As far as plug-ins go Dark Reader (.org) is generally regarded as safe, just be sure to get it from a trusted source.

Dark Mode has existed in Windows since 2016 and in macOS since 2018...? The world is reeling from a climate crisis. The people need Dark Mode.

Finally, anyone who uses Dark Mode system wide—guilty as charged—knows that incompatible apps are an eye sore--big time.
Personally I won't stop using Text Blaze, but with every new release I ask "Are we there yet?"
"Dear Blaze Today, All I want for Christmas..." :folded_hands:t2:

Dark Mode plugins / extensions are unreliable and can pose some security concerns. There is a better way! You can change a setting in Chrome that will enable Dark Mode quite nicely for all sites. Here's how:

  1. Copy this and paste it into your address bar: chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark
  2. "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" should be the first item at the top.
  3. There is a dropdown menu to the right. Click it and select "Enable".
  4. You will be prompted to "Relaunch" Chrome, probably at the bottom-right of your screen. Do it.

All you tabs will reopen as they were, now in native dark mode. This will stay on indefinitely, even after you close Chrome and reopen it. If you want to disable Dark Mode, follow the same steps above, but choose "Disable" in Step 3.

Hope that helps!
