It was a pleasure chatting with you and I'm excited for us to continue working together! I've recapped information discussed in the call below, and additional information for your reference including steps to create your Square account, and a breakdown of our processing fee structure.

Here are the steps to get started with Square:

  1. Create a Square account at https://squareup.com/us/en & click "Get Started"
  2. Verify Identity
  3. Link bank account
  4. Download Square POS app (free), you can also check out the Square Dashboard on your computer! 
  5. Start taking payments!
IMPORTANT:  To verify your bank account, go to your online dashboard, go to the 3 horizontal lines on the left of the screen and a drop down list will appear. Scroll down to 'Settings' > 'Account & Settings'. From there go to 'Business information' > 'Bank Accounts' and add your bank account. 
Square has next business day deposits which means we batch out automatically at 8pm EST and the money will show up in the bank account the next business day.

Processing Fees:
Square has extremely transparent rates with no monthly fees or contracts and a flat fee structure that does not change based on card type. 
  • 2.6% + 10¢ per transaction for in-person transactions
  • 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction for online transactions
  • 3.3% + 30¢ per transaction for payment link transactions
  • 3.5% + 15¢ per transaction for manually keyed-in transactions
