Welcome Webmail Snip

Welcome to speech! I am looking forward to working with you this year as your student’s speech-language pathologist. As we discussed during your initial conference, your speech sessions will be held on {formtext: name=day and time}. Your sessions will also be noted on the student planner.
Attached to this webmail, you will find a copy of our speech services attendance policy. Please review and reach out if you have any questions. Attendance for speech therapy is mandatory as indicated on your child’s IEP. I cannot discontinue speech unless the services are removed from the IEP. If you are unable to attend a speech session, please reach out to me at 240-342-6841 or via webmail.
In the event you and your family need to travel out of state for an extended amount of time, I will need to be informed in advance as soon as you know. To deliver speech services, your child must be physically present in Colorado. If not, speech services may not legally occur due to licensure and certification laws.
Here are some helpful tips to get the most of our speech therapy sessions!

  • Arrive prepared and on time to start your sessions.
  • Work in a quiet space free from distractions and noise
  • If able, sit in a stationary chair with your computer on a flat surface.
  • Dress appropriately.
  • Ensure your webcam and headset are turned on.
  • Tech issues are best supported by calling the family support phone number at 1-800-382-6010.
  • Please do not eat snacks during speech sessions.
The speech services team is excited to be using Zoom this year as our speech therapy platform. All speech sessions will be held in Zoom. You will click on the link associated with our scheduled session on your student planner. Please save the link and use it for times when the planner link is not working or the online classroom is down. https://pearsoneducator.zoom.us/j/6706226070
The LiveSpeech team is happy to have the opportunity to work with your student! As you know, we utilize Pearson Online Classroom (POC) as the platform for therapy and communication throughout the school year. Each therapist has their own POC section and when a student is assigned, they get added to their therapist's section. This creates 1 assignment that will show on your student's gradebook. This information is only shown on the gradebook and does not carryover to any transcripts generated for your student.
I look forward to working with your family.
