Data blaze beginner, Excel integ.?

Hello Blaze community!

I am working at a customer support company and am trying to make our monthly checks a bit easier. We currently use Excel in order to keep track of agent input and output, as well as when handling time of that output is measured within reason.

Issue is that all this data needs to be manually inputted, and would like to know if data blaze can be used to actually get these numbers from one site, added to another using the commands.

What I am having trouble understanding is if Data Blaze functions as a bridge between, or as a replacement for other charting programs such as sheets or excel.

If it is a replacement, what are some good starting points for actually learning the program?

Kind regards!

Hey @VikZen_Gunnarsson

Data Blaze is an easy-to-use spreadsheet software that integrates well with Text Blaze. It is not a 1-1 replacement for Excel, as it does not have the same structure, although you would usually store your data in either Excel or Data Blaze (not both). So you can consider it a replacement in that way. Data Blaze has many cool features, like:

  • Support for many interactive data types out of the box - like single select, ratings and checkboxes.
  • Multiple different views/filters/sorts to view the same table
  • Easy-to-use forms allow you to collect data from others. For example: the agents can just use the form to upload data from their end, without accessing the underlying table.
  • Text Blaze snippets integration - allowing you to write snippets that read data from or write data to Data Blaze - which would integrate well with your existing workflow.

To get started, you can export your Excel file to a CSV and then import into Data Blaze.

The Data Blaze documentation: Data Blaze | Getting Started with Data Blaze and this community are good to start with :slightly_smiling_face:

I don't think I understood this question. Would be great if you could elaborate further. In general, you would share a form (Data Blaze | Getting Started with Data Blaze) to collect data from people. For automatic collection, you can use Text Blaze snippets to read data from a site and capture it in Data Blaze, see here: Data Blaze | Reading and updating your data from anywhere It will capture any form data you define in your snippet.
