When using a dropdown menu, I would like the option for the snippet to complete as soon as I have selected the desired value from the dropdown list, to avoid having to click 'insert'.

The problem with this is that we wouldn't know which option is the desired one. You may want to switch between different options of a dropdown before deciding which one is the one you want. It would be a bad experience if we inserted the snippet right after you make a selection, only for you to have to use the snippet again if you selected the wrong one.
Hi Obed, thanks for your reply. My view is that 99% of the time I will select the right option first time so I would like the most efficient workflow associated with that. The 1% where I get it wrong I'm happy to delete and re-type the snippet. This would give me the best overall efficiency. I understand this might not be ideal as the default behaviour, but having it as an option would be very nice IMO.
