How to eliminate large gaps with trim?

Hello,
I am having a long-standing issue where there are large chunks of space between checked boxes. I would like to be able to check a box and then several lines down check another box and have them display just below each other, instead of having multiple spaces between. Here is an example of what I am working with:

Objective:

Range of Motion, Painful Tenderness, Tissue Tone:

Occiput motion restrictions: ({formtoggle: name=posterior left; default=no} posterior left {endformtoggle}{formtoggle: name=posterior right; default=no} posterior right {endformtoggle}{formtoggle: name=anterior glide; default=no}anterior glide {endformtoggle}) {formmenu: name=occtender ; default = without; with grade 1; with grade 2; with grade 3; with grade 4} tenderness and {formmenu: name=occw ; default = without; with} local muscle spasm.

Cervical motion restrictions: ({formtoggle: name=C1-2; default=no} C1-2 {endformtoggle}{formtoggle: name=C3-4; default=no}C3-4 {endformtoggle}{formtoggle: name=C5-6; default=no}C5-6 {endformtoggle}{formtoggle: name=C7; default=no}C7 {endformtoggle}) {formmenu: name=cxtender ; default = without; with grade 1; with grade 2; with grade 3; with grade 4} tenderness and {formmenu: name=cxw ; default = without; with} local muscle spasm. {formtoggle: name=cervical crepitus; default=no} Crepitus is noted with PROM. {endformtoggle} {formtoggle: name=occipital nerves nerve; default=no} Cervical occipital peripheral nerve exam: {formmenu: name=cervical peripheral nerves; default = nontender bilateral greater occipital nerves with recreation of neck pain; tender bilateral greater occipital nerves; tender left greater occipital nerve; tender right greater occipital nerve}. {endformtoggle} {formtoggle: name=auricular nerves nerve; default=no} Cervical auricular peripheral nerve exam: {formmenu: name=cervical auricular peripheral nerves; default = nontender bilateral posterior auricular nerves; tender bilateral posterior auricular nerves; tender left posterior auricular nerve; tender right posterior auricular nerve}. {endformtoggle}

Lumbar motion restrictions: ({formtoggle: name=L1-2; default=no}L1-2 {endformtoggle}{formtoggle: name=L3-4; default=no} L3-4 {endformtoggle}{formtoggle: name=L5; default=no} L5{endformtoggle}) {formmenu: name=lxtender ; default = without; with grade 1; with grade 2; with grade 3; with grade 4} tenderness and {formmenu: name=lxw ; default = without; with} local muscle spasm. {formtoggle: name=cluneal nerves nerve; default=no} Lumbar peripheral nerve exam: {formmenu: name=lumbar peripheral nerves; default = nontender bilateral superior cluneal nerves; very tender bilateral superior cluneal nerves; very tender left superior cluneal nerves with recreation of some lower back pain; very tender right superior cluneal nerves with recreation of some lower back pain}. {endformtoggle}

Sacral movement: ({formmenu: name=sacral movement ; default = without issue today; was hypermobile; was hypomobile with provocation pain}){formmenu: name=sxw ; default = .; with referral to the right thigh.; with referral to the left thigh.; without referral.}

Pelvic motion restriction: ({formtoggle: name=Left Ilium; default=no}Left Ilium {endformtoggle} {formtoggle: name=Right Ilium; default=no} Right Ilium{endformtoggle}).

As you can see, there is a LOT of spacing between then toggles/check boxes and I would like it to flow such that there is one line after another instead of 3-4 lines between

Hi, and welcome to the forum! :slight_smile:

We have a guide on exactly this topic! Please take a look at it and the included video:

Happy to dig into this further with you if you still have questions after going through the guide.

Hi @Christopher_Wellwood,

For this (quoted) and similar parts, you can use a dropdown menu with the multi-select setting. It would make thinks cleaner for you.

Here's how it works:

{formmenu: name=Occiput_motion_restrictions; multiple=yes; posterior left; posterior right; anterior glide}

Hi Scott, I tried with the video, but honestly it didn't work well with reducing the amount of lines. It worked OK with reducing white space to the sides but I don't see how it would help with reducing/bringing together the sentences. But, I will look again. I appreciate the thought.

@Cedric_Debono_Blaze , that will definitely clean up some of my snippets, but it will still leave large double-space and triple space between each sentence. Thank you.

Have you tried the tips in this section https://blaze.today/guides/whitespace/#where-to-put-your-line-breaks?

It should solve the issue with line breaks. If it doesn't please post your updated snippet so we can take a look and offer more advice.
