January Development Update

:champagne: :star2: Happy new year! Here are some updates from the last month of Text Blaze.

Text Blaze

:brain: Use AI to Write Responses

We've added an OpenAI command pack that makes it easy to use AI in your snippets. Simply activate the command pack here and follow the instructions to get started with it.

Once activated, you can use the {openai-text} command in your snippets. Just tell the AI what you want it to write for you. For example, given this prompt {openai-text: Write a short poem about Text Blaze} the AI wrote this poem for us! :star_struck:

Text Blaze, a tool of great power
Helping me write faster than ever before
It's a blessing, a savior, a friend
My writing is now on the mend

Here's a video showing you how to use this AI pack to automatically write personalized connection requests on LinkedIn:

:window: Native Windows App Beta

We're excited to announce the beta launch of a native Text Blaze Windows Application. The Text Blaze Windows app will allow you to insert your snippets inside any application on Windows, not just Chrome. Here is Text Blaze running in the desktop version of Outlook:

We're Beta testing the app right now. If you're interested in joining the Beta program, please fill out this form and we will get back to you within the same day.

Data Blaze

:key: Password Protected Forms and Public Views

You can now password protect Forms and Public Views in Data Blaze. In addition to having a secret URL, this allows you to add an extra layer of security by requiring a password before people can access a public view.

 Improved Usability

There have been a number of other usability improvements across Data Blaze over the past month. Among other things, these include:

  • The name of the currently selected table is now shown in the page title
  • You can now create new list items for select fields from within the selection menu
  • You can now drag and drop images within the expanded row module for file fields
  • The current date is now highlighted in the calendar picker in date fields
  • BSQL queries referencing link row fields where the primary column is a multi select field, now work
  • Improved list of functions in the formula editor

As always...

If you have any questions, feel free to post to our Question and Answer community forums. And if you have anything you would love to see in Text Blaze or Data Blaze, please suggest it in the Features Ideas section.
