{key:#} does not work?

adding {key:#} to my snippet does not work. Any ideas???

I have added others to test if something else is wrong and they work in same spot ({key:@}, {key:7}...)
specifically, I am in chat.google.com and am using {key:enter} {key:cmd-k} {key:#} to send the reply, set the focus to the Chat Room search box (cmd-k) and then type # as I have started all of our support rooms with #support

In the meantime, does converting your snippet to enter the "#" normally work?
