Text Blaze
New Statistical Formula Functions
We've added many new statistical functions to Text Blaze (and Data Blaze). These functions calculate additional summary statistics for your data and also carry out z-tests and t-tests.
The specific functions we've added are stddevpop
, variancepop
, stddevsamp
, variancesamp
, normdist
, norminv
, ztest
, tdist
, tinv
, ttest
. Their usage is similar to what you would see in Excel or Google sheets. So, get ready to crunch some numbers!
Check out this example:
An experiment to see if the heights of men and women are different based on the students in a class.
{note: preview=no}

Women's heights (meters): {women=[1.60, 1.68, 1.63, 1.70, 1.48, 1.67, 1.75, 1.66]}
p-value using a t-test: {p=ttest(men, women, 2, "HETEROSCEDASTIC")}
{endnote: trim=yes}
{if: p < .05}Men and women have different heights on average{else}Men and women have the same heights on average{endif} (p={=p})
Choosing User Count When Upgrading to Business
When you upgrade to Text Blaze Business, which comes with extra organization management and collaboration power tools, you can now choose how many users you'd like on your plan. And don't worry, you can always add or remove users later on.
Data Blaze
Reach Your Spaces Quicker
As always, Data Blaze has also received its fair share of improvements, starting with a new, shorter URL: data.blaze.today. If you've bookmarked us, make sure to update it.
Additionally, your spaces are now automatically sorted by the most recently-viewed. This way, you can get to your spaces in a jiffy!
(Fun fact: We use Data Blaze to manage our team status updates, track issues and feature requests, send user surveys, and so much more!)
More Colors to Play With
Good news for color lovers! Data Blaze now supports a wider range of colors. Feel free to use these extra colors to jazz up your Select menus in Data Blaze or any part of your tables.
