Hi
I love TextBlaze, but noticed recently, that when I start an email in Gmail, and I use the / to start pulling in one of my TextBlaze snippets, instead the native "help me write"-Gemini window opens beneath the email. Is there a way to turn this off or at least change what keystroke activates the Gmail feature, so I can continue using TextBlaze to insert the snippets?
Thank you,
Leland
Hi @Leland_Brandt, welcome to the forum.
Here're the steps to disable the smart features in Gmail, as per Gemini itself.
- Open Gmail on a desktop.
- Click the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Click See all settings.
- In the General tab, scroll to Smart features and personalization.
- Click on Manage Workspace smart feature settings.
- In the pop-up, uncheck/toggle off:
- Smart features in Google Workspace
- Smart features in other Google products
- Click Save.
Please let me know if that works for you.
Hi,
So, I do like several of the features in the Smart Features section...is there a way to change the / command to another character? This seems like a recent change in Gmail that has affected my ability to use TextBlaze.
Let me know.
Leland
Hi Leland,
You can replace the / character in your Text Blaze snippet shortcuts with any other special character like ., -, ;, etc.
