April Development Update

We're super excited to share with you some of the latest features and enhancements we've added to Text Blaze. We hope you'll love them as much as we do!

Text Blaze Upgrades

:tada: Confetti after Snippet Insertion

Text Blaze now celebrates a snippet insertion with a burst of confetti :tada:. It's our little way of letting you know exactly when your snippet has finished inserting (especially handy for multi-part AutoPilot snippets).

This feature is enabled by default for new users, but disabled by default for older users. You can enable it or disable it on your options page.

:unicorn: Unique Snippet Shortcuts on Creation

Previously, when you created a new snippet in Text Blaze is would always have the snippet /do. This could become an issue if you failed to give it a more specific shortcut. The next time you created a new snippet it would also have the shortcut /do and the two shortcuts conflict.

Now, when a new snippet is created, it's default shortcut is set to a unique shortcut. So if you already have a /do snippet and you create a new one it will be /2do and the next one will be /3do and so on.

Improvements to Data Blaze

:bust_in_silhouette: Autonumber and UUID Fields

Data Blaze now has Autonumber and UUID field types.

  • Autonumber: This field type automatically creates a sequentially increasing series of numbers for your rows. The first create row will be 1, the second 2, and so on.
  • UUID: The UUID field type generates a random UUID on row creation. UUID's are unique identifiers that look similar to 550e8400-e29b-41d4-a716-4466d54400c0.

Both types are set at creation and cannot be edited. These field types can be used for creating unique identifiers for your rows.

:white_check_mark: Checkbox and Radio Button Form Questions

We've made forms in Data Blaze even more flexible! Now, you can choose to display single select fields as radio buttons and multiple select fields as checkboxes. This gives you more control over how your forms look and feel in Data Blaze.

:clapper: Video of the Month

In last month's Development Update, we told you about the new "Row Grouping" feature in Data Blaze.

The video below gives you a practical example of how to use row grouping, and combine it with filtering and sorting to fine-tune your Data Blaze views to perfection:

And remember... :hugs:
