Thanks for the detailed request. This has been requested a couple of times (Snippets & Markdown, Plain Text Toggle Option for Snippets, Automatically indented numbering). I'll merge your post with the previous feature request topic for now.
Sadly, we still don't have a timeline on this. We'll keep this thread updated with any news.
